VOCES | 6:00PM-7:30PM | In-person at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center | Free | Bi-weekly
(Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 2753 W Division Chicago, IL 60622)

A therapeutic group facilitated in Spanish for Latinx and LGBTQ individuals seeking to develop and practice interpersonal skills. In addition, the group is a space to share experiences and learn from other people in the community. Group participants will be able to establish a deeper knowledge about their identities and the identities of other people. Participants will collaborate by identifying themes for the group which may include: coping skills, self-care, friendships, relationships, and family.

Un grupo terapéutico facilitado en Español para individuos Latinx/Latine y LGBTQ que buscan desarrollar y practicar destrezas interpersonales. Además, el grupo es un espacio para compartir experiencias y aprender de otras personas de la comunidad. Participantes del grupo podrán establecer un conocimiento más profundo sobre sus identidades y las identidades de otras personas. Participantes colaboraran identificando temas para el grupo los cuales pueden incluir: habilidades de afrontamiento, autocuidado, amistades, relaciones, y familia.

Queer Women’s Group | 6:00PM-7:30PM | In-person | $10-40
A space for queer (trans, non-binary, and cis) women to honestly and openly engage in therapeutic work around topics important to them. This group is for women who are interested in developing greater insight about themselves, exploring patterns of relating with others, and giving and receiving support. Topics discussed in group are generated by group members, but often include discussions of dating, sex and sexuality, finding community, coming out, internalized homophobia, intersections with other minority identities, and many others. The purpose of this group is to support women in exploring their identities and making meaningful changes in their lives.

QTPOC | 7:00PM-8:30PM | Virtual | Free | Bi-weekly
This group is for Queer and Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, and Non-Binary folks with intersecting identities as Black, Indigenous, Latinx/e, Asian and/or other ethnic and racial identities. This group develops a safe space where folks can share their lived experiences and learn from others within the intersection of these identities. This space is led by a clinician of color and will encourage participants to collaborate and author the topics of each session.

LGBTQ+ Religious Trauma | 5:30PM-7:00PM | In-person | $10-40
This group will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for group members to discuss religious trauma and its impact on their individual experience. Focus will be given to exploring sexual and gender identities and the ways in which they have been influenced by religion and spirituality, as well as the relationship between religion/spirituality and mental health. Group members will work to process trauma, dismantle rigid ideologies, and unlearn beliefs that may no longer align with them.

Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, & Non-Binary Group | 5:30PM-7:00PM | In-person | $10-40
A group for individuals wanting to explore their gender identity/expression and connect with others who have similar experiences. Topics such as gatekeeping, “being trans enough”, intersectionality, coping, internalized transphobia, building your own narrative, navigating oppression, exploring medical transition, and resource sharing are a few of the topics that are typically explored. Try on new ways to be you by utilizing this brave therapeutic space.

Healing Together: DV/IPV Support Group | 6:00PM-7:00PM | In-person | Free
This is a support group for LGBTQIA+ survivors of intimate partner violence who have initiated their healing journey from the release of the power and control dynamics of relationship violence. We will discuss the impact of the violence on our current lives and explore topics including mindfulness, resourcefulness, courage, consent, smart trust, healthy boundaries, communication, self-compassion, and self-care. Together, we will define post-traumatic growth and how to apply the process into our daily lives as well as the empowerment that can be experienced through storytelling.

Navigating Healthy Relationships for Queer Men | 7:30PM-9:00PM | In-person | $10-40
This group will explore how to define and redefine healthy interdependent relationships as well as explore how to understand, identify, and navigate healthy relationships as queer men. The group is intended to be an inclusive, queer community space where GBTQIA+ men will strive to positively interact with one another. This group is intended to be a space where our contributions are valued, where we can receive feedback from our peers and feel support from each other. Navigating Healthy Relationships for Queer Men will be moderated by a clinician and trainee but the conversations will be peer driven.

Thriving with HIV | 7:30PM-9:00PM | In-person | Free
This group is ongoing, but always accepts new participants! Whether you’re newly diagnosed or a long-term survivor, this group is designed to foster community and create a safe space for people who share the experience of living with HIV. Topics covered may include navigating sex and disclosure, the importance of self-care with HIV, dealing with stigma and finding a new normal.
